I guess it was coming

I got the scissors out again today!

So that's it, the relaxed ends are pretty much gone. I can see from looking at the pictures that I have a few ends that need neatening up. Chopping the hair was quite a cathartic experience and I felt great when I'd finished. Funnily, I feel more 'locked' than I did before; does that make sense? No doubt I'll spend the weekend experimenting with ways to style my new hairdo; any suggestions will be greatly received - it's my nieces Christening next week and I had planned to have my hair up.

You should feel more locked now since you definitely look more locked now. But you'll have to let us have a peak more close up.

With the perm ends all gone now, it may be time to take a breather. Your ends need time to rebound
over the next few months so the less manipulation from styling the better.

I say get in touch with your freestyle diva and work it.This is the time to enjoy that "do nothing" stage and you don't want to let it go to waste. Usually a headband, some lock jewelry and a flat twist here or there is all
that is required. In case you feel the need to go heavy handed on the spritzing, that should be a no no as well.

You are a pretty girl Mel and you don't need to hide behind those permed ends. I love the new perm-free look!

Enjoy!

...So you're a cutter...

I TOLD you it's addictive...

It looks so good! I agree with Goodnapps - freestyle! It does look more locked now, so there's less need to work with it to make it seem like it's styled. Wash and go! It's summertime!

wow mel! your hair looks really great. congratulations on freeing yourself from the remianing permed ends. keep banding and bunching so that you can protect those ends. and if you have any starter shampoo left, use it. enjoy!

I think your hair looks great the way the photo shows. Congrats on cutting the rest of the perm out.

I'm not sure why the picture won't enlarge :-(

Thank You so much Goodnapps! I will take your advice and keep the styling to a minimum - wish I could say the same about keeping my hands out of my hair though!

BR, I am at one with the scissors!

Muslimah, Thank You! I will pay more attention to the B&Bing when washing my hair; I was a little laid back at times before.

Thanks Meikmeika :-)

Maryee, Woo-Hoo, I hear ya!

Oooh, you're brave to do your own cutting, but I'm proud of you. And yes, I understand what you mean about feeling more "locked", now that all the relaxed ends are history :)

For styles, you could try flat twisting or cornrowing the front to a certain point, and then curling the rest on small perm rods or spirals. Follow Goodnapps' advice, and you'll be good to go.
